Update: “Heavy Flooding Turns Deadly In Belgium & Germany”

Flooding in Germany and Belgium has killed at least 110 people with more than a 1000 people unaccounted for, according to authorities. Flooding has also extended to homes and streets in Switzerland and in the Netherlands. Rescue efforts are ongoing and have declared a state of emergency.

Entire communities lay in ruins after swollen rivers swept through towns and villages in the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, Belgium and the Netherlands

Belgium’s crisis center urged people in the south and east of the country to avoid all travel as the death toll from swollen and burst rivers and flash floods arising.
