During his performance at the music festival on Sunday, DaBaby uttered offensive comments that were widely criticized. DaBaby faced backlash this week after video of his highly questionable comments regarding HIV and AIDS—among other things—surfaced online.
“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” he said during his Rolling Loud performance. “Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up“.
In a statement shared via Twitter, boohooMAN condemned DaBaby’s comments.
“boohooMAN condemn the use of homophobic language and confirm we will no longer be working with DaBaby,” the statement reads. “Diversity and inclusion are part of the boohoo Groups DNA and we pride ourselves on representing the diverse customers we serve across the globe. We stand by and support the LGBTQ+ community, and do not tolerate any hate speech or discrimination in any form.”
Upon addressing the backlash further on Tuesday, DaBaby premptively responded to “any brands, networks, or artists” criticizing him for his comments. “Keep yo money next time,” he wrote, accusing people of profitting “off of black rappers influence on the culture.
