Ghanaian based Gambian actress Princess Shyngle has disclosed that she suffered from ectopic pregnancy via a popular tiktok challenge. She described the pain as 1billion times the pain of menstrual cramps and later realized the bleeding situation. “According to her; upon arrival the nurses rushed to her aid and was immediately taken to the theatre (operating room) for surgery. The doctor’s told her, the situation was a life-threatening one”.

Now for the first learner’s; Ectopic pregnancy is also called Extrauterine pregnancy.

A pregnancy in which the fertilised egg implants outside the uterus.The fertilised egg can’t survive outside the uterus. If left to grow, it may damage nearby organs and cause life-threatening loss of blood. Symptoms include pelvic pain and abnormal vaginal bleeding.

According to Google research; signs and symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy typically occur six to eight weeks after the last normal menstrual period. Unfortunately a baby’s life can not be saved, if you’re pregnant. It’s not possible to save the pregnancy. It usually has to be removed using medicine or an operation/surgery.

To prevent complications, treatment is required. In the early stages, medication (chemotherapy) may be sufficient. Later stages require surgery (laparoscopic surgery) and a medical procedure termed (vacuum aspiration, Dilation and evacuation).
