Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, the Ghanaian Afropop/Dancehall artist, has stated that despite reaching out to Shatta Wale after his detention, he did not pay him a visit since he is not sick.
Shatta Wale was allegedly shot by unknown gunmen on October 18, 2021, and the report went viral on social media because his personal assistant and designer used their social media accounts to propagate the bogus news.
Stonebwoy, has been unable to comment on the incident three weeks after it occurred. Cookie Tee questioned Stonebwoy about Shatta Wale’s arrest during his media tour for his new single “Greedy Men” on Onua Maakye Morning Show.
According to Stonebwoy, he did not believe the story of his shooting and did not panic when he heard it, but his legal team was in contact with Shatta Wale’s legal team and were ready to meet him when he learned that he had been detained by the police.
“I had no idea Shatta Wale had been shot. I didn’t want to trust what I was hearing. I conducted a number of calculations and additions based on the information that was distributed, and I determined that the news of his shooting didn’t add up. I was glad to learn that this was not the case.”
“My legal team and his legal team have a great working relationship… We had planned to pay him a visit on the day of his release, but we received another piece of information that caused us to postpone our visit, but the truth is Shatta Wale is not a patient,”
Popular dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, nearly marred a meeting the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare organised for players in the creative industry on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
Wale was angry because he claimed he was prevented from filming the proceedings, although he claimed he had seen his peers doing so freely with their mobile phones.
The meeting, hosted at the police headquarters in Accra, was held to discuss show business and security-related issues after Shatta Wale and Medikal were arrested on separate occasions for violating the law.
In a video that has gone viral, Shatta Wale is seen bitterly complaining about being unfairly treated by police officers at the meeting.
While yelling, the musician attempted to walk out of the premises but was subsequently rebuked by police chiefs and escorted out of the auditorium.
Prior to being called to order, Shatta made a lot of noise at the Police Headquarter, saying: “I’ve come here, and I’m sitting down; people are taking out their phones. Me alone [when] I took out my phone, some policemen wanted to stop me”.
Shatta Wale was remanded at the Ankaful Prison for allegedly publishing false information about an assassination attempt at his residence.
He was later granted a GH¢100,000 self-recognisance bail, alongside three others, after appearing before a court in Accra.
